mr white or anybody else, what kind of adapter is is on the disc on this bike?

I need some kind of freewheel to track adapter for my disc, I know that HED makes one but it lacks lockring threads (this will only be used on the track so i don't know if it makes a differnce, does it?) I know a guy at work has one that has set screws and is theaded for a lockring and he says it works great. I am looking for more options, any suggestions?

I have a freewheel hub, not a shimano cassette hub

Lockrings aren't required on the track (as far as I know) because you aren't suppose to backpedal anyway.

I race old Specialized tri-spokes on the track with a track adapter. Spinning off backward isn't a problem-- if you're backpedalling that hard something is really really wrong already.

so the hed adapter is the way to go?

Should be fine. Imagine how much holding power all those threads have when they're torqued properly. Talked to a guy that works at HED, says if the adapter is Loctite'd or JB Weld is used you're more likely to strip out the lockring threads on the adapter than unscrew it. SAm

I didnt think the adapter was threaded for a lock ring though... correct me if i am wrong

It is. He had a whole bag of 'em, all had cog and lockring threads. Apparently the question you ask is precisely the reason they don't sell a lot of 'em. If you really are worried(shouldn't be) just JB weld the adapter then it will never come off.

so 100 percent for sure the HED adapter has lockring threads? I read on fixed gear fever that it didnt

pretty sure when they say no lockring threads they're referring to the fact that there is no device to lock the adapter in place. Other than what amounts to, dare I say, high strength glue and the proper torque.

There's definitely no lockring threads on the hub to keep the adapter from coming off. The Hed pic pretty clearly shows lockrings. The adapter I have doesn't have them (it doesn't have flats, either, which is pretty annoying because I end up needing a pipe wrench to torque it), but either way if you're just using it on the track it shouldn't be a problem.
