Yes or No, will Gerdemann still be in yellow after tomorrow's stage?

It depends on whether one of the GC contenders tries to shake up the race. If you see a GC team up front early in the stage setting a tough tempo then the yellow will likely be dropped. If it is a snails pace with everyone waiting until the final climb to wake up he may keep it.

Let me first start off by saying kudos to Gerdemann!

As to the topic on hand, IMO there is no way he's going to survive tomorrow's stage with yellow.

I think he might be able to hang with the favorites group, but someone will probably break out and take yellow. He won't lead chases of anyone though.

im kinda surprised the GC men didn't start duking it out today. tomorrow is essentially an uphill finish, any contender would be silly to not try and grab what time they can. i hope the field splits and shows the real contenders.

A GC attack would have been a bad idea. If Sastre for example had attacked, and even managed to reach the top of the climb first he would have been caught on the final run in. That would have been a huge waste of energy.

You know it really doesn't matter. Today's race is why I love cycling. He put a lump in my throat, watching a young kid just comming out of nowhere to win the day and get yellow. A young man's dream come true

Yellow & White in one day! Magnificent ride. I doubt he'll keep the yellow even though he's got a good lead on other GC contenders. I just think those guys are prepping for tomorrow which is going to be brutal.

Gutterman gained 1 minute on descent from the pack of leaders.

Yea that is because he is not a GC threat. I promise you the other GC guys would not let a contender gain that time.

Then if a rider had taken the chance and got caught his GC hopes would pretty much be over. The attacking rider would be spit out of the back tomorrow.

We will see tomorrow. If someone wants to win then tomorrow is the day to start.

If Rogers is Telekom's GC man and Gerdemann will be working in support of him then there is a solid chance that the two will start the last cat. 1 climb together. It will be an interesting stage.

It'll be interesting to see what is left in Gedermann's legs for tomorrow's stage.

Even if he were to quit halfway through tomorrow's stage, he could still call his tour a success.

He looked fried after today's stage. They had to half-carry him to the trailer.

I would LOVE to see him persevere, but I think he's toast. Two days like today in a row? It's only for juicers. I'll be shocked if he's within 10 minutes of the stage winner.

He put everything into his ride today. Of the riders who finished ahead of the lead group, only De La Fuente looked like he saved anything for tomorrow. I think there's a fair chance he (De La Fuente) will be in yellow after stage 8.

i doubt gerdeman will pull out, but i wouldn't expect to see him mixing it with the GC men any time soon after that ride either.

Even though he didn't keep his lead, he is still second overall!

I once again must congratulate the guy for being a warrior.

since rogers pulled out, gerdemen is now presumably the t-mob leader. considering how he fought today, if the whole team gets behind him, i'd say he has a solid top-10 shot.
