View Full Version : How many car/bike miles last week?
Wondering how many miles you put on your bike recently? Also, how many car miles (even if you are carfree you might have hopped a ride with a friend)?
For me, in the week
bike: around 200 miles
car: 30
I have been averaging this for the car for the last 3 months. Bike miles for the last 3 months probably around 120. Car miles went up to about 50/60 during February. Then when Spring hit, I had two weeks where car miles were over 100.... then settled down again. Bike miles in February were around 5 miles a week :(

During the school year:
Bike - ~200
Car - 50
car-- zero, don't have one
bike-- 331, not done yet though
Bike: about a hunderd, as usual.
Car: zero, as usual.
I haven't replaced the stolen bike computer yet, but a good estimate:
bike, 90 miles
walked, 8 miles
rowboat, 1 mile (?)
car, 0 miles
city bus, 2 miles
interurban bus, 200 miles
car miles in the last week: 0
Bike miles in the last week: about 120

Now THAT is an interesting commute!
I did zero in cars, as usual, and about 60 on the bike, as usual.

Well I gotta admit that the commute itself was pretty ho-hum, strictly by bike, 40 miles per week (4 miles one-way).

You just reminded me that my budy and I took the kayaks out for a bit of fishing last week, probably paddled about 5 miles all up.

Car -zero
Bike - approx. 50-60
Walk - Approx. 10
This was for last week. This week will have far fewer bike miles and more walking because my bike needs to get taken to the shop. Gr..

Actually that should be a typical week when I get into my car light stage. The town is only 3x4 miles or so and the store that I will be working at is just about dead center. Most of the houses we like are with in a 1.5 mile radius of the store and everything else is pretty much on the route to and from work:D We looked at houses this weekend and found a couple that would work. The other possibility that isn't too far fetched would be living in an apartment over the store....talk about a short commute...all 18 stairs of it:eek: :p (and the way it used to be!)
Aaron:)
bike 250
car 30 i HAD to drive to work one day, because i had to drive a load of people to a job It sucked and made me miss my bike alot.

Bike- 30 miles a week

It must suck being a cager.
In the past 7 days I traveled about 90 miles by car in one day, and all of the other days traveled just by bike. Bike mileage, about 18 miles per weekday, not much on weekends. Total bike miles over the week, about 90.
During a typical 7-day week I travel 0 miles by car, but this past weekend my partner had me going with her to South New Jersey because I'm helping her run part of a conference that will be held there.
All my distances are based on info from internet map sites, which give you about the same distances you'd get looking at your bike or car odometer.
Bike 55
Car 36

bike - commuting - about 16 (live 1 mile from work and ride home for lunch)
recreation - 70+ (wheel sensor for computer moved so I lost a lot of data)
car - 108 (visited my parents, 54 miles one way)
Car: 0
Bike: 330km (If I count trip last weekend, if not, then 100km)
Public transportation: 210km by train (If I count return trip last weekend, if not, then 0)
'0' for car is quite normal.
Teme
Car: 65 miles
Bike: 146.3 miles
I work at home, but twice a month I have to drive to my company's headquarters for a meeting.

I'm not self righteous, I just hate cars with a deep passion. They've ruined much of the country, and will continue to ruin it until they finally sputter to a stop. They were fed to us with the promise of freedom, but give us only mobile cages.

No way, it sucks something awful!
Sure does. Screaming engines, breakneck speeds and destroying the peace and quiet of everyone around you. Have you ever thought of enjoying things without a screaming engine?
I love the misplaced self-righteousness of some posters in this forum. It makes for some very amusing reading.
As opposed to your own self-righteousness, which I guess is perfectly placed.

It's clear you've just come in here to troll with that boat of yours, so I'll let you ride off to those very remote places you say you like. I get enough abuse from a-hole cagers around town.

I think in metric.
bike = 248 K
car = don't have one but did (sheepishly) get a ride home from a joy bike ride in the country so 35K maybe?
local transit = 0
regional transit = 60K (took a train to get out of the city on a Fri night to go bike camping).
Is that bicycle, or motorcycle?

walked, 8 miles
rowboat, 1 mile (?)
car, 0 miles
city bus, 2 miles
interurban bus, 200 miles
Rowboat? This demands a further explanation!
Car--approx. 30 miles (but always as a carpool)
Bike--approx. 70 miles
Walking--approx. 3 miles
No buses (bus would take about three hours and two transfers to get to work--all of 8.6 miles away on my bike).
East Hill
