Hi guys,

I have a question on mudguards for Manitou forks. I have Manitou Black Elite 80/100 and want to attach a fender. No other company besides SKS manufactures any special model for Manitou. Please advise which mudguards models fit to my fork. Primarily I am interested in THE and Mud Machine but also will appreciate information on other manufacturers.

Cheers

Are you speaking specifically about the 1.5" steerer tube?

You can send THE an e-mail and they are now producing an insert to fit the new standard, and also Cannondale Lefty's. (At least that's what they said when I called them)

These will probably be special order items and may be a bit of hassle in Russia.

Wait, you're talking about a Black Elite. THE fenders should work just fine with that fork.

Do you not like THE fenders? I just bought one and it works pretty well.

This is the one I just received:

THE Fender (http://pricepoint.com/product257.html)

There is a rubber insert with a screw that you push into the bottom of the steerer tube. Really easy install. Took a total of about 3 minutes.

Hello, a2psyklnut!
Big thanks!

It's really a great deal of fenders on Pricepoint. Unfortunately the color is only yellow :( My Tomac 98 needs either black or red :)

I have just measured inner diameter of the steerer tube of my fork and it is a bit less than 1" :-\ For which steerer tubes diameters THE manufactures standard inserts?

I did not quite understand should I order separately the fender for instance at pricepoint and additionally an insert from THE? It means that except THE nobody
Sells sets for Manitou. Am I right?

As a matter of fact I like THE :) I think that THE and Mud Machine are the best fenders among available but I want more options.

Cheers

Pricepoint's price looks good on each item, but they tend to nickle and dime you on the manditory insurance charge and higher freight charge. On low priced items, Pricepoint may end up being more expensive than others once you get to the total amount.
