I have been trying to find reviews for the Bontrager track wheels. (http://www.bontrager.com/Road/Wheelworks/Wheels/23534.php)
It sees no one actually owns these. Has anyone had any experience with riding them on the streets? I might be able to get a really good deal on a set of them. I'm worried with so few spokes they will not be able to survive the streets of Oakland.

I'd trust 'em. Deep profile and probably bladed or high gauge spokes, definitely not something to be scared of.
they're good wheels. the bontrager track wheels ship on the lemond fillmore. i picked up a set for $100 (with tires!) a while back and ride them reasonably hard. they are nice wheels -- nothing super high zoot, but they get the thumbs up.
i had em for awhile too. honestly couldn't tell the difference between them and my deepv wheelset, but keep in mind i only weigh about a hundred pounds. they looked a lot neater than the deepvs tho

I noticed that as well. I think that the specs are right and the picture is wrong. The ones I'm getting are equal to the specs not the pitcuted ones fromt he link. They should come in a couple days.

Seems their website can be out of sync (or else the wheels pictured are a brand spankin' new incarnation as I picked mine up new ~April of '07). The ones I have are grey annodized, ehh... like these in the build i recently posted...

They are the same as spec'd on the '06 LeMond Fillmore and the '07 Trek T1.

Does any OBS actually sell these as a wheelset? I only see them on the web as OEM wheels on Lemonds, Treks, etc.

Bontrager are essentially using the Rolf design now, right? Rolf wheels are pretty well tested and equally high regarded, for what that's worth.
