Hey all, I've been searching the forums for ideas on getting a 90 degree 1" quill stem with a faceplate. Any help in pointing me in the right direction will be much appreciated. Thanks!

P.S. Something on the shorter side would be great too.

oooo I didnt know the mutant is a removeable faceplate.. makes me want it even more..

but to the OP.. by 90 degrees do you mean parallel with the ground? or a riser? I have the salsa and its parallel to the ground.. look at my burier/barrier to see it in action...

90deg is a rise. something like 72 to 73deg would be closer to parallel to the ground.
We're referring the the angle between the extension and the quill.

the old salsa with the big brass top cap are the best of those kinda stems
zoom/ nashbar also makes em but they feel like a wet noodle

why not just get a pearl/elite for every handlebar you have and be happy

I think 90 degrees usually means "riser" when you're talking about stems for threadless setups and "parallel to the ground" when you're talking threaded. If i had my druthers we'd say "73 degrees" when we meant 73 degrees, and bfssfg stem threads would not have to take ten posts to resolve this issue every time.

the angle is always measured from the steering axis... whether this is what the OP was refering to or not is debatable, but it should be understood when buying a stem that 90* (or 0*) is not parallel to the ground.

I have both a Deda Murex and a Mutant---- the Murex in black. Both have open faces- makes swapping bars a snap. Both look much nicer than a Salsa... IMHO.

By 90 degress I mean the angle of the stem (meaning it forms right angle between the arm and the quill). The mutant looks painful! Maybe on the track it's nice, but I'm doing all street riding.
