I just finished up a 60 mile ride about 3 hours ago... trying to take a nap now, but my head is POUNDING like it's nobody's business.

I took some aspirin, but it doesn't seem to be helping... could i be missing some nutrient or something? What i'm looking for is an answer like "eat a banana and it will go away."

Where is the pain and how much did you drink on this ride?

But before you answer, go get a tall glass of cool/cold water and start sipping.

it could be something obvious like dehydration but then again it could be something more serious, you should make a doctor's appointment and describe this to him/her just to be sure.

yeah, it's starting to feel like a hangover, college-vintage, so i'm thinking i didn't drink enough water. I just ate some more food and a few tall glasses of water. Now it's nap time.

I'm not one to dispense alot of advice since I'm still relatively new at this. But I'm finding it especially important the longer you ride, the more water you should be taking in. Both before, during and after the ride. 60 miles is a great ride. Good for you.

And also something salty - that will help the absorption of the water.
