Welly welly welly. I'm going to order my first roadbike in less than two weeks. Right now i'm preparing for the first ride. I'm in decent shape but i've been running some routes on my mountain bike to bulk up for the upcoming day. I've narrowed my choice to the Bianchi Eros. Look out Twin Cities, a 17 year old sloth is about to enter the world of road biking.

Love that signature! :p

Enjoy your road bike. Just bear in mind that road bikes don't handle like mountain bikes, a fact I had proven to me this past weekend.

-Rob Hehe, could we say it's analogous to switching from an SUV to a Formula1 car? :D

Just take it easy for the first week or so and get used to the bike. When I first got my road bike I could not handle the bike out of the saddle so I had to ride all the way home sitting - but this was fine cause it was FAST hehe..... also traction in the wet etc will be different, in particular stopping fast and sprinting from a stop. I often spin the rear wheel on paint, so try and keep off this! And dont corner on wet paint....very nasty.

I'm always jealous of the road bike guys. They drove me to getting one. About a month ago I was trying to show off. Drafting on my monster at 25mph on the tail of a Lemond. I realized I needed one bad when he pulled away from me.

I have no beef with monkeys. I've been practicing on using my feet for more daily tasks. I've been trying to find the right food that can fit in my foot when i scrunch my toes. So far i've been able to use chocolate waffers. The list is short. Anyways... I didn't even know there was a Twin Cities bicyling club, i'll have to look into it. Where is it based?

Check out their site. I will tell you though, I am 25 and I felt like a young guy on the group ride I went on. I showed up to the meeting spot and though I was at a senior citizens function. I only went on a "B" ride so maybe the "AB" rides have some younger people. I am saying anything bad about the older group of riders, they ride well, I was just hoping for some more people that I could relate a bit better to.
