Has any one had any experience with the Australian Piave Cion?

I've not heard of them before. The nearest outlet to me is in Launceston at the other end of the island. I'll be up there next week, so I will try to check it out with the LBS.

PS: By the way, you obviously weren't a victim of the sudden big freeze the other day. It made the news here. Was it anywhere near you?

Hi Brendon

I checked out the Piave at Cycle Torque in Launceston yesterday as I promised I would. I spoke to Nathan, the store owner, and he said Piave is a new Australian company set up by a guy who has worked in the bike industry for some time. The frames are made in Taiwan and are specced quite well for the dollars you pay -- the road bike on the floor was just under AUD$2,000, and was well equipped with STI shifters and 105 drivetrain. Ritchey wheels and headset. Nathan has sold two of them so far, and the owners seem to be happy, he said. Ok for an entry-mid level bike, I suppose.

Dear Brendon,

I read about your email. PIAVE P2000 -- I m thinking about buying one too. THey cost AUD$2000 here; any chance I could come to NZD and buy it there for NZD$2000.

cheers mate!
