So I live in Modesto, it sucks. We were recently rated the "Worst City to Live in America".
But beyond the usual suckiness, the biking conditions are horrible.
Many of the streets are so cracked and messed up that you CANT ride a road or hybrid through most of town. I have a mountain bike, and some of the streets are more bumpy and agonizing than many trails.
Theres some long streets by my apartment with little traffic, but they have the nifty feature of having large ominous holes the size of a dinner plate that would make any bike rider do mid air sommersaults if they caught on their front tire.
The city council says theres no money to fix the roads, as Modesto is one of the poorest cities in California. So I plan on getting rich and moving to Marin. Who knows the quickest way to get rich?:cry:
