General Cycling Discussion - You make the call

I'm trying to decide if I like the bar tape I've put on my Lemond as I'm building it back up and decided to create a poll to get your opinion. I'll post two pictures - one from a distance and one up close. Look at them and then vote in the poll.

I think it looks o.k. and voted keep it. On the other hand if you are making a poll about it then you must not be happy with it.

Here is why I voted to keep it. I do not think it is pleasing to the eye by no means, but a vast majority of the riders I see don't match anything on their bikes anyway. Almost everyday I see riders with mismatched colored components. With that said you should go with what you like.

My God! That is ugly! It's also, IMO, disrespectful of the flag. Go for something classic, like white or black, or even red. Solid colors rule!

That is ugly. Maybe if your gloevs were the same pattern, and shirt, and shorts, shoes and socks and helmet..hehehe...but that would make your bike look ugly then. LOL

The only proper place for that design is on an actual flag. One of my pet peeves is flaglike grocery bags, bumper stickers, T-shirts, and souveigner like plastic junk.

Since 9/11 this sort of "flag abuse" has really gotten out of control. I don't think it shows proper respect for the flag.


Try a contrasting solid color.

What would Style Man say ? I'd go with Black tape, or even the Black and White Camo looking stuff... keep it simple...

As the owner of a "team USA" red-white-and-blue Schwinn mountain bike, I suppose I should not be critical of your patriotic pattern, but as a hard-core retrogrouch, I like black handlebar tape.

Damn shame! I just put this same tape on my bike last night! My bike is a silver colour, maby that makes it ok!;)
