Can someone give me google directions to the start point? I don't think this is where I'm used to going as a) I've never driven there by myself and b) I don't think this starts at the park that I'm normally used to starting at; one that is close to the end of the 605 freeway.

Just ride at your own comfortable pace and we will regroup at the Cafe in Mt. Baldy Village.
When you get to Mt. Baldy Road, just turn left *up* (watch for traffic), and it's about 1/4 mile up on the right. Can't miss it!

If the parking gets too full on Boulder Springs, you can also park on Glendora Mountain road. We will start from the intersection of Boulder Springs and Glendora Mountain Road at 7:00 AM.
Of course, you are welcome to start earlier or later as you see fit!

Because I think Rick is doing a super-duper job of putting on a wonderful ride (one of my very favorites as everyone knows), but I had already made plans with someone I haven't ridden with in a while, and we're keeping it low key and breezy easy by the ocean. :D

I'll have to pass on this. Have fun everyone. Gotta spend some quality time with dad, instead of blowing him off on my ride. Probably go to a dodger game. Plus, my knee is still having issues. When you feel your knee straining just going upstairs, you know you've got some issues.

Hi Ron and Mary Elizabeth,
Sorry you won't be joining us, but maybe next time! Have a great time with your Dad (Ron) and on your ride (ME)!
Ski Lifts are a "maybe" for me. I did it last time, and it was the same long slog as the time before, i.e. didn't get any easier! Still, I'm training for the Mt. Tam double, so maybe . . . have to see how I feel at the Village and/or who all might be willing to join the Suffer-Fest to the Ski Lifts.

I'll be doing this one. I'm not sure if I can make it to the top or not but the nice thing about climbs is there's little effort involved going home. It will be my first serious climb and first major group ride. I ride a flat 20 miles every day so it's going to be interesting how I hold up.

Agreed. Fred, not being disrespectful, but you you climb a hell of alot better than I would expect you to. I remember my first time on GMR and I was trying to catch you on the way back. Although you destroyed me on the descents, I was figuring that I can make up ground on the climbs, but that turned out to be fruitless as you were even killing me on the climbs!!
Jon, I was thinking about the ski lift options. I've done it only once, and that one time it took alot out of me. I definitely want to do it again, but with a possible metric century for the next day, I think it would wipe me out for the next day. I'm still thinking about doing it but if I do, then the option to do the the following Santiago Canyon Metric (http://www.bikeforums.net/showthread.php?t=322077) will fall out the window!

C'mon, you know you want to do it. Just think how much easier the metric will be the next day, just think of it as your "recovery ride.":)

We'll see. I'll decide when I get to Baldy Village. If I decide to do it, I'm blaming you if I don't make Sunday's ride!
