Vehicular Cycling (VC) - How's that VC working out for school kids?

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.
my understanding is that they are 'held up in committee' somehow by the traffic engineers on the National Committee on Uniform Traffic Control Devices (NCUTCD), who I believe, publish the 'manual' (MUTCD). My information is probably a couple of months old, but I've been waiting something like 10 years since I first made the proposal to the City of Portland DOT folks. Maybe the people on the NCUTCD committee need to take the road 1 and 2 classes? You're close to there, yes?

Maybe the people on "the committee" should try riding bikes for transportation instead of being drivers; drivers that feel that such sillyness as "door zone bike lanes" make sense.

Indeed, i want to see some drivers shearing doors off cars when the parker doesn;t look before opening. I think that would be worth the price of admission.
