Singlespeed & Fixed Gear - clipless people..

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.
what is your preferred pedal? the speedplay zero tracks look like the best bet but they are $$$$$$$$$$$$$$.

If I ever go clipless for a fixed gear, I'll go with the Speedplay Zero Tracks. They've got the strongest spring. You shouldn't pull out when you don't want to.

I have the X/2 Speedplays (unlimted float) on both my road and fixed gear bikes. I love them. I use my fixed gear for training mostly and it is a great combo.
If you have knee problems these are great because the float is unlimited. Takes a little getting used to but they are really comfy on long rides.
Only drawback is when you get a little dirt in them it is hard to clip in.

I use eggbeaters on my fixies.......and sometimes Speedplays. I've been using Speedplays on my roadie for 8 years now.

seems that everyone hates SPDs but they are cheap and efficient. it may take a little cleat adjustment to get it right (due to very little float), but they are easy to get into (double sided pedals) and get out of, and the cleat has a really low profile so you can walk comfortably in mountain SPD shoes...

Time A.T.A.C.'s, but I don't have a fixie, just a single speed, and it's a mountain bike at that!

BTW, I've got X-2's on my roadbike. Love em!
SPD's (545's) on my FR bike. Switching to platforms soon!

Not me. I used to have Looks but changed over about 3 years ago and haven't looked back. They work great on the bike and it's wonderful to get off the bike and not have to walk like a duck.

I like the ATACs on my street bike...nice platform and hold well.

I have looks. But that's because it's what is on my road bike. And its a pain to have different shoes for different bikes..

i have ATACs as well. i LOVE them. they have a pretty good amount of float, and you don't have to adjust anything. just make sure the cleats are tight on the shoe, snap in and off you go! and they're double-sided. i would have gotten eggbeaters, but they're expensive and they look kinda squashable, but i've heard good things.

I use eggbeaters. They're the only clipless pedal I've ever used, so I don't have anything to compare them to, but they've worked well for me.

i just came unclipped from one of my TIME pedals today. luckily it was as i was pulling over to my building and not in traffic. but golly did it suck. it was also right after i had almost been doored by some stupid yuppie college girl. my arm has been searing all day form a fresh tattoo, i got like 4 hours of sleep last night. so it's been a fun day. time to kick back, pop a BMX video in the VCR, sip some PBR and eat some pretzels.
Older cheaper Looks have a stiffer spring than the newer, "carbon" (read: plastic) ones. I'm on pp237s on all my bikes.
check out bebops very cool often overlooked
