I'd like to replace the rear wheel on my bike with possibly an old alloy rim. the freewheel is a five speed suntour. Does anyone know what kind of wheels will work?

Well, if you want to keep the 5 speed freewheel, you'll need to find a wheel with a threaded hub (see here (http://sheldonbrown.com/gloss_ho-z.html#hub) to see the difference between threaded vs. freehub design). You shouldn't have trouble finding a used wheel with an alloy rim and threaded hub. You may need to respace, however, to get the chainline you want if it's a wheel that's been spaced for a 6 or 7 speed freewheel. See Sheldon Brown again (http://sheldonbrown.com/gloss_sp-ss.html#spacing).
