Hi, I thought you all would be interested in this electric power assist trike built by one of my customers. It is an extremely neat conversion using a TW-Bents trike. It has dual 36V 8Ah (16Ah total) NiMH batteries powering a Crystalyte 500W hub motor. Range is between 60 and 120km! Check it out here. jeff-o: I'm confused by your numbers. 36V * 8Ah = 288Wh. To go 120km you'd have to consume only 2.4 Wh per kilometer. I have read elsewhere that the average mileage for an e-bike is about 10Wh per km. Also, 500W / 36V = 13.9A, and 16aAh / 13.9A = 1.15 hours. To go 120km in 1.15 hours would require travelling at an average speed of 104 km/hr, or 65 mi/hr. What gives???
