Road Bike Racing - anybody else doing over/unders right now?

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.

Last couple of weeks my program's feature has been over/unders: 10 minute interval, first 8 minutes at FTP, and cadence of 100, last 2 minutes maximal effort at cadence of 110-120, 5 minutes rest, repeat.

Just wanted to say how much these really suck. Anyone sharing the pain?

I've had some of these on weekends when I am not racing. Done on hills. painful. It better make me faster!!!

Makes sense to do them when no racing. It's the hardest solo workout I can recall doing, and as close as I can get to race intensity by myself.

We're in a lull with no racing in Florida this time of year, so I suppose that's why my coach has them on the schedule now. (Either that or he's just a sadistic prick.)

No.

Training is for wussy.

Actually, I do two "mini-races" a week (T/H). 1:45 and 1:30 respectively.

BTW, are you doing Palatka?

And there's races here. One next Tuesday @ Lake Louisa, another on August 7th. And four in Atlanta next weekend.
