Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.

I need a new chain for a 1980 Bianchi that uses a 5-sp freewheel and friction shifting. Can you tell me where I can find one or what size chain to look for?

a cheap Sedis will work fine. They are nice quality and were standard on bikes like yours, back in the day. They are also easy to work on- no special links, excessive flexibility- and wear quite well.
Also SRAM PC1 or PC10 are spaced for 10 to 14 speed bikes
(total gear i.e. 5 to 7 cog freewheel).
Then there is always e-bay, I see alot of Regina Extra and
America chains being listed (NOS that is).

Sedis and SRAM are the same thing now.
I like the SRAM PC-58, but anything but a "9-speed" or "10-speed" chain should work fine.
