how to make your own White walls

i sanded and cleaned the area to be painted with 220 grit this is essential for adhesion and longevity. the paint i used is Krylon Fusion which has been proven to work extremely well on tires you dont have to limit yourself to white walls they sell different colors, blue walls anyone?

that look really cool---I sprayed a set of tires with the paint used for padded dash resto---it looked good at first but soon cracked---after you use these a while please report back how well they hold up---sam

I remember an old timer bicycle repair guy. He was phenominal. He used to use black paint to clean up old tires and make them look 'spiffy".

I think it will work fine. Let us know how it holds up.

Regular spraypaint will dry rot tyres faster though. Dunno about this stuff though.

If you can find a set of tires with white lettering you could try sanding off a layer of rubber to get to the white stuff underneath. It works on car tires, but I've never tried it on bike tires.

Meh, doing it to a set of heavy, thick, cheapys wouldn't hurt. Maybe if you're talking about some 700x23c race tires you might have a problem, but I wouldn't worry too much about taking a little rubber off of cruiser/MTB/BMX tires.

yeah thats a bad idea on both car tires and bicycle tires. mtn theyres plenty of rubber to be lightly sanded but to do what kemmer wants thats asking for trouble

Not really, hot rodders have been doing it for years. Like I said, I've never tried it on bike tires, but on car tires there's plenty of meat.
