what trailer has shocks?

I was jsut thinking after looking at my jogging stroller if trailers have shocks in them or are there only certain brands that have them? If so what brand and model. Sorry if this sounds like a silly question, but I am sooooooooooo new to all of this. I'm well rounded with my strollers but not bikes and trailers lol!

i would have to agree that they should at least have some higher end models with some sort of suspension. when I take my kids to the park, I have to go over a few speed bumps. while I do slow down, they still get tossed around pretty good. plus not all bike trails are smooth. sorry i cant help

As far as I know, only Chariot makes models with suspension.

Yes, the Chariots have suspension. And, at least on the model I have, it can be adjusted to fit the weight of the rider. However, on really bumpy trails, it still bounces. I used to take my daughter on some running trails in the woods. I would steer around the largest bumps, and just go right over the not so large ones. She loved it. Unfortunately, when she was about 2.5 years old, she decided she would rather walk than ride, so no more trailer for her.

I have a Performance trailer (no susp) with 2.0 inch wide Panracer BMX tires on it. I run them at really low pressure and can do some light trails with my 3 yr old daughter and 2 yr old son giggling (then fighting) along the way. I think you can get higher volume tires that will also fit, but I was in a hurry so I bought what the shop had in stock.

When you say "shocks," are you talking about suspension, something to soften the bumps, or so-called shock absorbers (like on a car), which are really dampers--they control the up-and-down movement AFTER you hit a bump? Easiest way to get suspension is to run larger tires at a lower pressure. I'd think that with a 25-pound kid and two good-sized tires, you could easily go to 20 or 25psi. I weigh 230 and often run my mountain bike tires at 40 in rocky terrain.

Burley Cub has a suspension system built into the interplay of the wheel and the hard plastic bottom--they use a rubber 'block' that is quite effective when loaded with kids and/or gear.
