My employer does not offer insurance so I have purchased insurance on my own from Anthem for the last 5 years or so for myself and my family. I have been disappointed with Anthem for sometime now and have decided to shop around. Any suggestions/recomendations from anybody? The more the merrier. Thanks.

Don't expect to be pleased with any of them. I have an non-group family plan through Blue Cross and it never seems to pay for much and the yearly deductible for my wife and daughter is eating my lunch this month

I guess one is penalized by having family. I'm currently paying my own insurance because I was not on my late husband's plan (which would have been way more expensive per month), yet mine is still affordable (BCBS)....

Nonetheless, I look forward to working again by the last quarter of the year (and thus being covered by an employer), in part, just to be working again....

Can't help... I'm spoiled and not really looking forward to this particular aspect of civilian life.
