My first post!
I haven't rode a bike in years. I would like a nice new bike I can ride around the neighborhood and park to get some exercise. I've always felt more comfortable on BMX style bikes and want to see what you guys recommend. I'm 5'-9", have a maximum budget of $200, but would like to keep it closer to $150 if possible. I'm asking here because I do not want a cheap bike, I want to get the best bike on my budget. It will be street/sidewalk ridden and maybe across a field. Don't plan on doing any tricks, just want a quality bike.

What do you guys recommend and why?
BTW I'm in the Phoenix, AZ area if anyone knows a local place I can check out a lot of bikes.
Thanks!

You don't want to spend more than $200 dollars but you want a quality bike?...well then, I recommend breaking in to your LBS and stealing one.

Do you know what model they sell for $200?
This is the only Iron Horse I found for under $200

It looks small.

Any comments on GT Mach One Pro?
Any comments on Redline MX 20?

How do I determine if a bike is big enough for me?
Is it safe to assume a bike with 20" wheels will be big enough for me?

How about this; you or your best friend have $200 to spend on a BMX style bike, what would you buy or recommend to him?
I am into firearms and frequent firearm forums. Although you don't get the quality of a $1500 pistol for $300 that doesn't mean there are not quality pistols for $300. Same type of thing, whats good in this price range? I don't know bikes so I came here to ask those who do. Like I said, no jumping, no tricks, just a BMX style bike I can ride that isn't sh*t. thanks ;)

If you don't plan on riding your bike very hard, you could just get a cheaper Diamondback (Joker or Grind) or a GT (Fly or Bump). They are definitely not the best bikes out there, but they should hold up for just plain riding.

Even a Wal-Mart bike could hold up to just plain riding.

Or you could do like me and get a used bike. I got a used 2005 Hoffman Disrupter EL2 for $125.

I'm sure you can find a nice concrete park out by you. Arizona is pretty well known for good concrete parks to the best of my knowledge.

I forgot about Diamondbacks. I checked out the Joker and the Grind. The Grind is smaller, but the Joker is full size. The 2008's are $189 + tax. Looks really nice and should be nice for what I plan to do. I'm going to go check one out sometime soon. Thanks for pointing me towards these. So far the '08 Joker seems like the best bike in this price range.

Maybe save up a bit more and get a GT bump, they are a bit better and definatly worth it.

Well I checked out some bikes today and liked the Haro F1 the best. Not sure if I'm going to get it but it was just under $200 before tax was slightly larger than the Diamondbacks and felt a lot better riding.
Any comments?

Wow what a helpful reply.
Telling me why you think it is a bad bike would be helpful.

I tried to search "Haro F1" but the search will not allow the "F1" part. So I search Haro and get a lot of stuff. I browsed through it and didn't find Haro F1 stuff. Instead of telling me it sucks why can't people say why, examples, etc? This forum is full of some very helpful people http://i127.photobucket.com/albums/p123/west-phoenix-az/Gifs%20and%20Forums/rolleyes.gif

lol, what parts would you say are weak or prone to failure on a stock Haro F1?
Remember I will basically be street riding it. Don't plan on jumping, etc.

Just when you get, take off the front brakes and maybe take off the gyro and run a straight cable.
