a little add on...

i want a lightweight bike because a want to be able to bunny hop easily but i wont be doing any huge jumps....and i want it to be pretty sturdy so i wont have to worry about it breaking easy....i will be mostly just riding around on paved streets and want a pretty fast bike

any suggestions??

they arent heavy but not light. All new bikes should coast good if the brakes don"t hit. depends how strong you are if they are fast. the gearing should be about normal.

Personally i recommend my bike, I have a '97 Robinson SST GT, I've only had a few minor problems. They aren't terribly rare, but they are definetly fast (55 with the stock 2 piece sprocket). They are extremely lightweight and can take a beating. (I used to race on the street and i started off road BMXing...thats how much of a beating they can take, i've prolly cased the damn thing 100 times in the last month).

Doesnt matter if they're new or not, i've literally abused the **** out of mine, and it works just like new.

Take a leap of faith man. New or not, this bike will perform.

Make sure if you're getting a 33t chainwheel, you get a 12t freewheel made by DK.

If you can do all that for under $250, I will give you $250 dollars.

Somehow I doubt that. If you are buying everything new, and aren't buying the world's worst parts, there is no way you can do that.

Dazzle
07-22-07, 09:29 AM
well there not the worlds worst parts but there certainly not the best...the cranks are like 40 total but there still good...pedals chainwheel grips are all good...but 1 question....i actually kinda want like 28t chainwheel so do i still have to get a DK driver (only comes in 12t)

FitRider 921
07-22-07, 11:02 AM
What are you planning on buying? Cranks for $40 does not sound good. It would be pretty stupid to just use a 28t chainwheel if you want a good gear ratio. You need a cassette hub to go that low.

Dazzle

industry rocker 3 pc cranks only $44...what size chainwheel do you suggest i get without having to buy a cassette hub??

live4muzic2

or do i have to get a new freewheel???

If you get a 36 tooth sprocket, get a 13 tooth freewheel made by Odyssey.

Hmmm. Way back before you were born, I had a Mongoose that must have weighed 40lbs+. I could never get it more than 2 feet off the ground by bunnyhopping.
