Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.

I recently purchased a Gary Fisher Tassajara. The bike is in pretty good condition, and from everything that I've seen on the web, it appears to be a 1997 model. Needs a little work on the FD and RD... but what bike at 10 years old wouldn't? (I hope most do, otherwise I'd feel bad.) At any rate, I paid $80.00 for the bike. Is this a good deal, or did I possibly pay too much? Let me hear your thoughts, be they good, bad or ugly....
dude, it's $80, if it gets you on the road, it's all good. I've seen people charge a hell of a lot more for a piece of crap on craigslist. So I think you made out ok.

The Tassajara was a very good middle of line bike, with a great geometry and a very sturdy frame that was mostly identical to more expensive models. The difference were the components. At this price you didn't take a lot of risk and you can upgrade the frame with whatever component you wish. I recently sold a 1989 Mongoose Iboc Pro with no suspension and original Shimano Deore LX components for $100. So feel good and ride your new bike.
