Just had an offer accepted on my first home which is located less 2 miles from one of the biggest training routes in the area.
This is going to make a huge difference.

That's always my big criteria in choosing a home. Wait, I bought a house on top of a ball buster hill I have since nicknamed 'Mt. Doom'.
Never mind.
congrats.
so would an EPO regimen.

The first thing I noticed was the windy hilly street the house was on and I was like "good start!"
Congrats.
I just did the same thing, but I've been painting/fencing/countertopping so much that I don't have time to ride.

Where abouts are you living now? If you're not comfy posting on forum, send me a PM. Since, you know, I live in Herndon and all.

Thanks guys.
The weird thing is the last time I had a broken bone I met my wife and now I buy my first home while nursing a broken wrist.
Im really scared what bone will break when we have children.

There's a very steep hill down in Clermont, FL called Sugarloaf. It's kind of the "signature climb" for several races. The last time I was down there riding, there were several homes for sale along the road at the top of the climb. I remember thinking that would be an awesome place to live; you'd have to get stronger just to get home every ride. :)
I used to live about 500 metres from where I work and then moved to live closer to my kids which is great.
It bummed me out at first but then I though 'bike commuting'. Training almost EVERY DAY!!!!!!!! :)
Now I love that I commute 3 times a week by bike 40 minutes each way. Okay, it won't make me a pro but its a bonus :)

3100', 10 miles to the summit up. 1600', 10 miles to the valley floor down. 10 mile loop out the door: 2100' of climbing.
And 100+ miles of single track 300' out the door.
You can't help but train well.
