damn, now im all confused. I was all set to upgrade my crankset to a Deore LX and everything else to XT (pricewise best for me). So Im doing some reading around and see that Raceface seems to be balls above the Shim setup, but would probably comare pricewise to the XT crankset. Great, so I start looking into that and some people are saying that the RF BB sucks balls.
Im sure this has been discussed too many times to count, but I cant seem to find any good compares because theres too much crap to sort through.
So, is the original LX/XT setup a decent choice for your more advanced XC riding? Ive seen that the chain rings are prone to quick wear and bending. Or should I jump to the RF and maybe find a different BB to go with it? Or even better, is it a push and just go with whatever floats my boat?
