Here's this evening's shot of our twice weekly training ride around the perimeter of the Rose Bowl in Pasadena, CA. We do this every Tues & Thurs evenings from 6 to 7pm every week except during the winter months. 10 laps, 30 miles total.... As usual, I got dropped early on so I decided to have some digital fun this evening...

Winter months?? You have winter in Pasadena?
I guess any time the temperature drops below 60F it's winter.

Quite true...... no one rides when it's below 60 here in the SoCal...
Actually, this pack is only active during daylight savings months, from April to Oct. But our Sat morning training ride starting in Pasadena and thru surrounding communities is year round, and is a much bigger group. The Sat morning ride's been active for 30 some odd years....

Are the streets closed for this event? How do you deal with traffic?

That's a big group you have there. We can never have that big group in the Philippines unless its a race.

That's awesome. I've been in awe watching the TdF noting the speed a large pack of riders can achieve together. Just amazing.

It's not an event so the street is not closed. This 3 mile road basically circles around the Rose Bowl, its parking lots, and a golf course. Therefore, we share the road with with motorists, joggers, and rollerbladers. Motor traffic is always very light on this road.......it's more of an access road for people who have business at the stadium or the golf course. And usually there are no sporting events at the stadium on Tues & Thurs. Travelling clockwise, the ride is not interrupted by any traffic signs whatsoever, so it's a smooth continuous ride.
Wow!
How many folks are in that pack?
Looks like fun. It'll never happen in Chicago. :(
