Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.

Anybody else watch this show? If so, what do you think?
My brother and I have watched about six or so episodes, and we love it!

I love Man vs. Wild! I also enjoy 'Survivorman', but I haven't seen it on in a while.

I like it, but sometimes it's obviously set up. Like when he is "holding" the camera, even though it moves completely independently from his limbs. Or when he was floating down the river but obviously wearing a life jacket underneath his sweater.
I find that it's more of an instructional show rather than a survival show like "Survivorman".

Les Stroud goes into the wild by himself and has to do all his own camera setups. Bear Grylls has a knife, flint, water bottle and camera crew. That last part always made me laugh. You could just picture the crew munching on cheeseburgers while Bear feasts on larvae.

Bear Grylls is a lot more entertaining than Les Stroud, but no one can argue that Les has balls so massive their gravitational field affects ocean tides. Both shows are awesome, but I kind of wish there was more info about Bear's camera crew because they have to be quite nearly as badass as he is.

I think its interesting to watch from the nature standpoint,
But a more useful version is what Id prefer.
How to make it thru DC/Virginia on I-95 during rush hour........
How to get through N. Philly or Miami after dark........
What to do if stopped by a cop in Johnson City, Tennesee.......
:D

I like Survivorman better. Man vs Wild is a little to "set up".
