Well, I checked the forums and I havent seen this topic "lately" so i'm going to give it a try. Whats your dream road bike?

I'll start it off. Bianchi Vigorelli is currently my dream bike.

oh, man. i have a few different ones, actually.

for all-out performance, i would say the trek 5500 or the new madone 5.9. not exotic, but it gets the job done when it comes to going fast.

for something rare (and if price were no object), i would go for a casati laser built up with campy record and velomax ascent II wheels.

I would love to Make a Huffy with all Shimano Dura Ace Componets, and Shimano 540 wheel set, with a Big old Banna Seat, because its all about comfort ...... But if we are talking like hard core dream ride I would say Team Bianchi EV4 all tricked out with Dura Ace and I would keep the 540 wheel set tho because I just love them....

right now, a 5900 with zipps, record and gears i can't really push--something silly like an 11-21. the madone looks pretty damn cool too.

then again, a girl i ride with has pretty close to the dream ride: c40 w/ duraace (but different calipers for lightness), prototype (the only ones in existence) carbon cranks, prototype lew carbon wheels, etc etc. granted, it's small, but it weighs around 13 pounds and is worth more than my car.

This is my current "Dream Ride", it is Jan Ullich's Tour bike.

can't really put a price on the cranks--after all, they're the only ones on the planet. but i figure a stock c40 w/ duraace will over 4, add the wheels and upgrades, probably getting closer to 7 or 8. by the time you figure out what the cranks are worth... i figure it'd cost a normal person around $8500-$9000 for that bike. or, roughly $700 per pound ;)

Nofx I love your idea on the Huffy, that would get a lot of questions if I did that up here, from the club members that I ride with!!..Good idea, except since I'm a campy man, I'd put Record on it instead:D

Well at this point, I guess anything new is a dream bike compared to my old cannondale. Heck, technology has gone so far, that the entry level bikes ride better than mine. SAD

Right now, I would like a carbon frame, and everything else that can be made of carbon also (forks, seat post, etc) with ultegra all the way around. Durace would be nice, but for costs, I would go with ultegra. I would like a set of wheels that are light, but great for training & riding, and etc.

I am starting to come to the conclusion that the more I look the more I am going to spend. SCARY!

I guess I don't want to buy something, than a year later wished I spent a bit more. I will keep looking & saving up!

I have a lot of bikes I dream about.... luckily I'm already riding one of them. I could possibly make it dreamier however. ;)

One that fits me unbelievably well and lets me ride and ride and ride.
Probably steel.
Puncture proof tires.
Maybe even stealth.

Hey, I like my Zurich for now.
Although, I have been eyeballing a Waterford or maybe a Steelman's.
I wonder what will be the latest and greatest in a year or two when I'm ready to buy a custom steel bike.

I"m finding in my old age, that I have a bike that I ride (LeMond Reno, with the proper upgrades). But the bikes that I dream about are the ones that I longed for in my youth, but could never have afforded.

I still have my Torpado, though I wrecked it in '75 and have it around just to remind me what CAN happen. I'd like to find another.

I just had handed to me recently an amazingly straight '73 Raleigh Competition, though it's Campy gear was swapped out mid '70s for first generation Dura Ace. I've ridden it a few times (it's got really old, really worn tubulars on it) and it's getting stripped for a polish and repaint. But it fits so nice and rides so SMOOTH...

The bike that I really want and would cease my wanderings for a "dream bike" would have to be a late 60s, early '70s Cinelli Super Corsa, full Record (or Nouvo Record...). I had a magazine shot of that bike hung in my bedroom as a teen and worshiped it as a shrine to the cycling gods. To this day, I see the word Cinelli and get a warm feeling all over my body...

If I had to "settle" for a modern dream bike, It'd have to be in order of lust; Waterford-Rivendel-Columbine.

No stock frame for me: would have to be a custom bike by Argos in Bristol, UK with Campag Record and a custom wheelset built on Hugi 240 hubs. A dream bike starts with a perfect fit, IMO.

I'm looking at an 02 Vigorelli in yellow - going to test ride probably tomorrow. I was impressed with it's looks and set up. But, DAMN, Koffee you put a whole new spin on cycling seduction! :D

I agree with the Custom crowd.

If I'm just dropping money I don't have I give Richard Sachs a call.

For something too expensive but perhaps possible I've always liked the current generation Colnago Master XL. I'm attached to lugged frames but I have to admit that Pegoretti has caught my eye lately. The Marcelo looks nice. Playing around on the LeMond site I found I can get a Maillot Jaune with custom painting so that's on the lust list too.

Again if it's imaginary money the bike rides Record 10. If it's just too much money Chorus 10 will work.

There's also a whole list of old bikes I'd love to have.....

De Rosa King, with full Record. And I'm going to buy it, too - once I've learned to ride my current bike!

i'm a fan of that de rosa frame too...don't know what i'd put on it though...i'd probably just buy it to hang on the wall for a month or two, then sell it to someone who'd actually ride it.

right now, i've pretty much got all my dream bikes. and old pinarello, a custom pursuit frame, a lotus track frame, and my terrible one BMX.

the only thing i'd change about my pin. is the wheels, i want ksyriums or the really nice velomax wheels...and i want a nice set of clipless pedals and shoes, and a black profile stem.

Colnago Dream B-Stay though I'd really be psyched if they put the HP stays on it (the diamond shaped ones). 2004 DA components, Chris King headset, Ouzo Pro fork, and Colnago carbon wheels. Look seatpost and an SLK and I think I'd be floating :)
