That one actually has an answer - because (1) there is more weight on the rear tire and (2) because you are more likely to be able to avoid glass, etc., with the front than with the rear.

But whatever the reason, SoonerBent is absolutely right: be grateful. Front tire blowouts at speed are no fun at all - been there, done that, got the scars. :(
