Professional Cycling - Rumors of a new US Team

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.

In today's coverage on Versus, there were rumors of a new US team. Axel Merckx was asked not to retire and David Millar from Sanier-Duval is rumored to be joining the team. Is this perhaps the birth of a new team for Floyd Landis? Is a ruling coming down the pike soon? Thoughts?

Would Landis be eligible for TdF next year if his 2006 DQ stands?

Yes, they're talking about Slipstream and Jonathan Vaughters:

They'd have to be crazy to try to hire Floyd Landis. Look what happened to Discovery with Basso.
Edit: a better analogy might be look what happened to Tinkoff with Tyler Hamilton.

I heard the main sponsor will be Amgen. :D
It would be awesome to have a mcdonalds sponsored team.

Except for the TT bikes, that's actually pretty feasible.

I don't think any team would touch him.
Remember these guys are walking, riding billboards for their sponsors
What would he have to say during an interview?
The only questions would be about 06
(while he has some other sponsors name on his chest)
Ain't gonna happen
He can't lead a team now and wouldn't come go to help some one else
2006 was it,whatever that was
Landis is done.

Can't see how you can follow this logic when there are others who have come back into the sport who had even better evidence agains't them.
Sure certain teams wouldn't touch him but many less visable teams would.

Does that count? Those were made by Serotta and branded as Huffys.

You have some really fancy quotes but have you actually spent any time looking at the case against him? The lab findings are a joke.

That was pre-Floyd.
Basso showed what the risk is.
German TV confirmed it.
At this point it doesn't matter whether he did it or not. I don't think he's employable in Europe. You think Unibet has trouble getting into races? Hire Floyd and give your team the summer off.
This doesn't mean he's guilty, it doesn't excuse the lab. It's show business, not sport, and how people feel about an athlete means lots. After all, Lizzie Borden was acquitted, but who remembers that?

that would be SOOO sticky though....all that grease...and lovley mcgriddles crushed into the weave of their jerseys. They could just lick them instead of getting mussett bags.

I'm going to print this link out and take it to my local Sprawlmart and ask them if they could fit it for me, and ask to talk to the person who does the final assembly. Hah! What a joke. And while I'm there I'll ask them what their return policy is on bikes.
Truth be told, I haven't been to one of those **** holes in about 10 years, and have no intention of ever going to one again.
