Go away, I didn't ask whether what I'm doing is wrong or right in YOUR freaking opinion. I asked for the damn shoes. OK, I'll find them myself, whatever.

Mods, lock the thread, kthx.

In the interest of making this thread useful to future generations;
Shoes for clips and straps

yellowjersey.org (blue cleats for look style; could probably find you something shoewise)

businesscycles.com (can order duegi keirin shoes, carries toshi cleats for look style)

Vittoria premium pista shoes (available through vittoria shoe dealers; vittoria-shoes.com)

Detto and Duegi shoes are available through EAI dealers.

Ebay.com and nashbar and performance have some shoes.

I just got a pair of Iijima shoes. Does anyone have any recommendations on a pedal setup? http://twitpic.com/cnl1f

But I wonder if you can get into the lowest ranked competition (which I presume is one star?) by meeting the time requirements - which are a 1.10 kilometer and a 12 second 200.

That's not very stringent - I know several 50+ guys who can easily do that, especially the 12 sec 200.

I'm just wondering why you don't just use some Avocet shoes?

At least the dude is actually riding his bike in a velodrome. Unlike 99.999% of the people on here, myself included. He's asking a serious question, and everyone starts berating him. It's not like he's asking if a green aerospoke will match his green veeps and ourys. And I've ridden 90" gearing before. It's not like you have to be a damn super hero to do it.

Cut the guy some slack. Damn.
