Anyone know what's involved in changing a 2007 Trek Madone 5.2 SL Triple to a Compact. I'm getting different responses from different sources. Is it as simple as just changing the crank and making some adjustments or do more components need to be swapped?

no, you need a new left brifter. Ultegra is double or triple specific, it cant do both.
