Had a pretty disapointing weekend at french broad, I went in knowing I was not going to be the strongest rider out there but with two wins recently I had the confidence.

TT - Got there late, no warm up at all. My HR went through the roof trying to hold myself back for first 2.5ks. Started to open it up and feel good. Convinced myself to suffer on the way back and ended up with somewhere around 28 minutes. and 27mph. I definatly need to spend more time on the TT bike. My form is twice as good as it was the last time I rode the course and I felt a lot better plus better pacing but I only rode 20 seconds faster.

RR - felt good, a few gaps went on the little climb, I always found myself in the leap group. Break goes with a lap to go of 8 riders two of which I knew to have marked. I do a little work to bring it back in the last 5 miles but a guy from portrait homes brings it back almost, break falls apart 2 men still up the road. I feel great going into the sprint but I didnt do **** to fight for position so I'm sitting 30th or so. I never really sprinted but ended up ~15th after some guys cracked.

Crit- feel good the first lap, started far back so I start to claw my way up. The course is a dragstrip on the front side uphill and downhill on the back with a tight corner going into the front. ~20 minutes in I settle with the realization that if the pace continues like this I'm going off the back. half the field is already gone. ~25 minutes in I get gapped and didnt have the legs to make it back. Only about 1/3 of the field finished the race.

tt- I did like a 29:24

RR- Chain breaks 5 minutes before the start and gets caught in my rear deralieur and rips it off into my wheel. Run back to the staging area to find coach. he quickly put me on the team bike which doesnt fit very well . So the race starts out really sketchy for 1st 2 laps and the last 2 miles of the 3rd lap. Ended up getting caught up in a crash during the sprint and get thrown into a nice big pile of rocks on the side of the road.

Crit-Got gapped pretty good about 3/4ths through the race and popped off the back.

Well, the weekend went pretty well in the 3s for my team. We had three of us in the top 10 on the TT, then one of our guys got the win on Saturday due to some very tactical riding. Sunday I made it my job to protect our guy who won on Saturday in hopes that we could get him the omnium win, and it worked to perfection. He finished third (one guy who clearly shouldn't be a 3 rode away from the lead group, and our guy was nipped at the line for second), and I just lost the bike throw to one of the ClifBar riders to finish 6th. Surprisingly enough, that vaulted me up from 22nd in the omnium just into a payout position, so we ended the weekend with the RR win, omnium win, and my omnium placing.

It's been fun reading the reports from other guys at the race. I'm just a little jealous of you guys with better legs.

Congrats dude, very good tactics from your team. Your guys always looked very strong out there.

bruce should be a 2 w/o a doubt...strange that he's a breakaway specialist, yet didn't do that well in the TT. Bad position maybe?

More than likely he dosnt train enough on his TT bike. I serisouly think I could have ridden the same time I did on my road bike in the drops.

Yeah, Bruce was sick strong compared to our loaded field. Impressive. recneps, it was good to meet you too. Nice job your first time out with the 3s. This weekend was the best tactical, team-based riding we've done, so it was good to see that we're capable of being smart every now and then :). I'm off to Utah for a week and will be back just in time for Crossroads, so I'll see you out there.
