General Cycling Discussion - Hitch rack for Jeep w/ oversized tire on the rear

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.
I'm looking for a hitch reciever that will fit over my spare tire on the back of my jeep.
It's an oversized tire (35") and it looks like I need 17" from the hitch 'pin' hole to where it
will clear the tire.
Has anyone ran into this problem?
Any suggestions on ones that stick out a bit far?

Check with J. C. Whitney.

It may not be a bicycle specific rack, but I will be surprised if they don't have something that will work.

yakima
(tongue is slide-adjustable in receiver)
p.s. why not have the hitch receiver in its 'normal' place, attached to under carriage?

Thanks, I'll look into that one.
Also, the hitch is in the normal place.
I just have an oversize tire that hangs off the back that's about 17" out.
