What was his role in the Operation Puerto scandal, I know he was cleared, but why was he involved initially, was it just because he was on Astana?

^^^ Then known as Liberty Seguros. The team, including Contador, was not allowed to start. I have not seen any articles linking him to it directly, though certainly there are riders / athletes we do not know about. For now, I'll suspend disbelief and shake my head at his ability to attack, regroup, and attack again. Impressive stuff. We'll see how he does in a flat time trial later this week.
