Northeast - Freelance Fitter in NYC????

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.

From the Nyack thread:
I'm having knee issues lately too. My hunch is too much fixed gear riding but not sure. The new road bike is not feeling great, but the knee damage may be a carryover from fixed....just not sure. Only way to get to the bottom is to get fitted. So, as much as I'd love Signature to do it, the cost is kind of on the high side. Does anybody know a freelancer, or individual who does fittings for a reasonable price in the NYC area?
My addition: Who also does well with special ortho and geometry issues such as different leg lengths and unusual ankle and knee geometries.
Suggestions Anyone?

I know that some shop guys do some work on the side. I was once fitted to another bike by one of them. I've lost contact though.

what is considered reasonable?
haha. Good point. As a frame of reference, for a non-racer, recreational cyclist, what would you consider reasonable, and why?
If I can fix a problem permanently for a higher price that may be more reasonable than a lower price that has to be revisited perpetually.
There is definitely a factor for how much it costs up front, vs what the ongoing cost will be.
For example, if I change my saddle next month, what impact does that have on the fitting? What if I change to Looks from SPD's? Can I just reset the seat height, or does the whole thing have to be redone from scratch?

Well Signature is up around $350 or so I think. I'm thinking reasonable being around $100ish..maybe a tad more.

Signature is $375. Mike Sherry at Performance Labs HC does a great job for $250; my wife just had a fitting with him 3 weeks ago and the difference in her power is striking. And I've heard very good things about a guy named Jason who works through the Piermont Bicycle Exchange, and I think the rate mentioned was either $75 or $125.
