My favorite apple tree had a major limb break last night, it is an eight inch limb/branch and I had to go out and cut it up for firewood. The limb was way full of apples and they will just go away now. The tree still has a lot of apples and is in no danger of dieing.
SO:
Who here likes this kind of apple. They are one of my favorite. If they are not, what is your favorite?

Why is everyone's tree falling apart?
Macintosh.
Gala or Pacific Rose for eating by itself.
Granny Smith for eating with cheese.
Spitzenberg - also Thomas Jefferson's favorite.
For a more modern variety, Honeycrisp is absolutely delicious - but I hear they're very tempramental and difficult to grow. Braeburn is also very good, and I also like Jonagold.

I like them, but they aren't my favorite. That would be Braeburn. Fuji, Royal Gala and Pink lady are all close 2nds.

Oooo. I love Gravensteins. And Braeburn. And Mackintosh. And Spartan. And Golden Delicious. And Red Delicious, but only if they are allowed to fully tree ripen, which makes them a surprisingly late apple. And Transparents.
I grew up on an orchard, can you tell? :)
And now I'm all hungry.

I have the above mentioned apple along with My true favorite "Roman Beauty", also have yellow delicious, King, and an unknown brand (old). Apple just do it for me, the only ones I don't like are any apple that is mealy, ugg.
I like all the apples I raise and this is the first year for my Bartlett Pear to bear (6 pears). :)

Fuji or Gala.
Gravensteins were my uncle's favorite; a gravenstein tree was planted upon his grave at his funeral.

Seems almost redundant;)
