Background: I'm trying to banish 'empty' calories' from my life and am slowly converting from fizzy stuff to juices contining. . .like. . .real vitamins, minerals, 'n stuff. . .along with the usual over-burden of carbohydrate. I have a handle on "from concentrates" and "pasteurized" and all that, but. . .
Inquiry: Is there a meaningful definition of "cocktail" juices? The best I can infer from the label is that it's some real juice[s] mixed with water and additional carbohydrates. The Uber Cynic in me wants to interpret this as the usual advertizing crappola designed to keep me drinking sugars [prolly Bill Clinton's fault].
Just say No to most fruit juices...it's much better to eat your calories than to drink them.
And it's really easy with most fruit juices to take on board an extra 100-500 calories per day, with only minimal vitamin/mineral content.
That said, I do keep orange juice in my fridge, but only use it for mixing in some whey protein powder as a recover drink after a hard ride.

Mostly agree with SSP. And especially with "cocktail" juices, which are often only 10% juice and loaded with high fructose corn syrup. I only use juice for 2 things: a splash in my recovery drink if I don't have any convenient fruit to throw in the blender; and since I use water on my cereal instead of milk, sometimes it will need a splash of juice (again, if I'm low on convenient fruit).
I also find that if I am craving something with a little flavor to drink, that just adding a little juice to my water (about 4:1 water:juice) does the trick. I found that my tastes adjusted to this almost immediately -- that is, full strength juice is now tastes way too strong to me.
(Edit: I'm not saying juice is bad, at all. This is just in reference to reducing empty calories and sugar intake.)
