Foo - Enough guitars already. Post your drum kit.

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.
I didn't want to resurrect a 2 year old thread, so I'm starting a new one.
Here's my 60's era Gretsch round badge kit. (I took off the badges when I refinished them back in the 80's.) I added a Rogers 12" tom and a Pearl snare. All the cymbals are A Zildjians. Ludwig Speed King pedal and a mixture of Tama, Pearl, Gretsch, and Ludwig hardware.

And here's my E-Kit. An Alesis DM-5 kit that I bought a couple of months ago. Good for practicing. I also used it for recording the drum tracks for a demo.

I know that there must be some other drummers on the board.

Wow, it looks like the crash cymbal on the right will disintegrate with one more hit. :)
I listened to the song. Sounds good. It had me tapping my foot. I should be able to post some songs as soon as the guitar player gets finished mixing all the parts together. He bought a Korg 32 track digital recorder. The band hasn't been able to be together all at once for the past month due to schedule conflicts. We've been recording the tracks one at a time. All we have left to do is some guitar overdubs. It's not a demo in the truest sense of the word. We're a cover band and are putting together a 5-song CD of covers to give to prospective clients.
Don't have an actual pic of mine.. but I have one of these...
Yamaha DTXpress III
Fun. Easy to mic, and plugs right into my PC. Mine has a Gibraltar double bass pedal.
I looked at the DTXpress. It runs around $1200 if I remember correctly. One thing I didn't like was not being able to adjust the angle of the cymbals. But then I realize that I've got the cymbals on the Alesis set to about the same angle as the DTXpress. Go figure.
I think that if I was to go to a double pedal I would look seriously at the Gibraltar. It seems to be a solid no-frills type of pedal. Fits my style.

I've got one of those too, my sister's kit
I dont know if I have an update picture of my drum set on my computer but...Its a yamaha rydeen 5 piece I morphed into a four piece. Over all the nicest thing about the whole kid is probably my two rides (20 year old zildjian ping ride, and a sabian paragon). Overall I would like a nicer set and I may upgrade within the next year, but for now this one works. I perform on my school set which is pretty nice compared to mine.
aha...here we go:
http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y141/hi565/IMG_1940.jpg
I go in and out of this set up. currently I have my two rides on the right side and the crash on the left. And all the heads have been replaces with coated ambassadors
Well, this is the closest thing we have to a drum kit.

I'm a big Fender USA fan, I love Yamaha Drums, I love K series Zildjians and my Mesa Boogie Dual REC roadster is a sweet tube filled head..... :D
Needless to say I play drums, bass and guitar in that order of skill...........

damn, nice set up. not the way i would set it up with all that equipment, but very nice. i wish i had a bunch of money to dump on my kit, but i have too many other spending habits to take into consideration, most music related haha
are you talking about that last photo? if so, yeah, i normally never have it set up like that. that lasted a weekend.
for me, its fun to challenge yourself with more/less equipment in different variations and see what you can come up with (both in playing, and setting up your gear)
heres another photo of me at a show. exciting.

Nice. I played a four-piece setup for years. Then I noticed that everyone was using a four-piece, so I switched back to a five-piece just to be different. I guess the next step will be to drag out my roto-toms again. :)

That's not a kid, it's Kuato from "Total Recall" back when he had a garage band in college.
It's taken longer than I expected, but we finally have the songs recorded, mixed, and put on our web site. You can check them out here:

What do you call the hanger-on'ers who bother Musicians ?
Groupies....Nope. Drummers !!!!! :roflmao:
I slay me sometimes. :roflmao:
Really though...nice kits ! I took up guitar only because keeping time and
remembering different parts of the song where just too problamatic for
a simpleton such as I may be.......Gotta respect the beat !!!
How many drummers does it take to change a light bulb?
Just one. He holds the light bulb in one hand and then drinks until the room starts spinning.

if you look, its actually mic'd up. i dont have one on my 10 inch, but the mic on the 14 picked up enough for what i was messing around with..:D

Unfortunately I haven't played drums in nearly 4 years. I had an acoustic kit that I sold to build an electronic kit, which I thought was going to get me through college. Electronics blow, and because of their terrible resale value (like computers) I didn't have enough money for an acoustic kit. I plan on getting back in once I get settled with some cash.
Here is a pic of my set before I sold.
