Southern California - How about another BF ride this weekend...again!

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.
Well, I had so much fun on the Slacker Century :) and then had to miss a local OC ride last weekend. :( How about someone stepping up and organizing another OC ride this weekend. I know, I know, but I'm too much of a follower to step up though.:D:D
OK all, I've been buffaloed into running this cluster - , so here goes.
Please don't expect German like precision here.:D:eek:
The ride is to be on the SART.
Start is at 8:30 at the Leaky Water Fountain entrance just south of Orangewood on Rampart St. This is just south of Anaheim Stadium at the Fire Dept. Training Center.
We will head north to Green River picking up people along the way, turn around and go back the same way to the beach (HB). We'll take a nice little break there and then head back to the start point.
There are many regrouping points and places to get water. I can't say what the pace will be, something like the Slacker Century without the extended stops.
I hope this gives everyone enough info to decide where to join the group and where you may want to pull out.
If you'll let me know your intentions, we'll plan on who's going to be there and where we'll meet you.
Riding on Saturday:
Ralph
Greg
Lenny
Keith
Tracy
Tiffany
Mr. Beans
Drew

Saturday, 8:00AM:
Brewbakers (in HB) to Long Beach, return on PCH to NPC for the single hill of the day.
If you can convince Extort, Chucklehead, chimivee, voltman, etc to come play again on this coming Sunday on a similar route as yesterday, I'd be game for chasing after them again. My legs still hurt from the beating they gave me on Santiago Canyon and the attempts to chase them down on the way to Back Bay, but they should recover by then.
What doesn't kill you makes you stronger, right? I couldn't believe how sore my legs were this morning, after they had had a chance to cool off.
Good to hear that we did not permanently damage your legs! I was hoping to continue my (lack of) training so that I would be better prepared to handle your lightning quick pace but I failed when I went riding tonight.
However, I would be willing to ride on Sunday.
...so that I would be better prepared to handle your lightning quick pace...

I was actually being serious about your pace. You did great out there! I have watched you expand your skills over the past couple years and am always thrilled to ride with you.

Why is everybody picking on me? I simply try and spread it all over...love, peace and happiness, of course...and you men misunderstand and misinterpret. I'm going to join a different forum and give it to willing recipients, if you keep it up!:D

I don't know if this is allowed on this forum.:D But switching back to the orginal thead's subject, Ralph have you decided on a ride for this weekend?
Or are you just going to sit home and pout that no will do "your ride" and organize it for you. :roflmao::roflmao::roflmao:

Hey Ralph, I don't think I'm going to do the Hot Palomar Ride so if you want to organize something for Saturday or Sunday in the OC area then I'm in! If there isn't a ride going on, I usually do a few miles of SART and a bit of PCH for somewhere around 70-85 miles (depending on how I'm feeling and how early I wake up in the morning).
PS. My apologies for derailing this thread off its current topic. :D

He's waiting for you to plan it, Jason. Personally, if he gets a ride planned out of this, I'll think it brilliant and perhaps use his method in the future. :D
Hey Ralph. I heard you just charged your light. Are you planning on doing the Azusa ride?

Well, if you want to keep with tradition, there's always the TdSS Stage 2, which went from HB to Corona and back, via SART. Lunch at Los Primos. Last year, it was the week after the TdSS Stage 1.
So... Ralph, what's the ride plans?
route planned here... link (http://www.bikeforums.net/showpost.php?p=4916258&postcount=4)
Or, we could run TdSS stage 1 since it is the anniversary of that ride. Sure, it's the same ride as last Sunday, but I really like that ride.

How about something on Sunday? I'm probably not able to sneak out this Saturday, and if I somehow can, it probably will be for Billy's Palomar ride.

I thought last week was the anniversary of that ride? Or was it the anniversary of Solana Beach?
Or maybe Joy wants to lead a tour of PV hills again? Ganado repeats... oh boy...

Irvine--Solana Beach was July 22. TdSS stage 1 was July 30.

I've got a great idea. How about you lead this weekend's ride? It's been a while since I climbed Latigo. :p

Can't schedule a ride this weekend, my dear. Looks like I'm working both Sat and Sunday in Del Mar. I'll probably take my bike in case I can sneak in a few hours.

I'm in the same boat ... on-call this weekend. :(
Hey all,
I’m writing this in Word because the site is down and I guess some have been wondering what is being planned for a ride. Sorry, work is getting in the way of spending time here!!!
I was thinking of a few rides and seeing what everyone thinks. The only thing that I want is to start close to home and now earlier that 8:00!!!
1. One ride is from Tortoise45 house (subject to his approval) in Laguna Hills up around Santiago Canyon, down Jamboree, South on PCH (alternate route inland around Laguna Beach advisable) and back up to his place
http://trail.motionbased.com/trail/activity/3211933
2. Ride the SART top to bottom for about 62 miles…Tracy (tprevost) is going to be around and would like to do this one! She will be in the area around 9:30 or so and will meet us on the trail or we can really have a Slacker ride and begin then.
3. Do the same ride that I missed this last Sunday.
4. Any suggestions will be entertained.
Love,
Ralph
Good night.
I dunno... riding with Tracy sounds cool. I think the last time I rode with her was at Joshua Tree. That's a LONG time ago. Options 1, 3, and 4 sound interesting, too. Not being very helpful, am I? :o
Oh, and I probably can't make Saturday this week, so my thoughts don't hold too much weight anyway since we don't even know if we're planning a Saturday ride or a Sunday ride!
Riding with Tracy should be the priority on Saturday if that is the day she is going to be around!
Ok, so the ride plan is....
there isn't one......
I'd like to join, however only have 'til noon or so.
Unfortunately that leaves out the 50-70 miles rides mentioned.
( mostly because I take up the rear and everyone waits :D )

Awwww..... thanks Phil and Jason (even though you can't ride anyway ) ... if my wheels are gonna be showing up in Irvine this week, I'll definately be there. Just remember, my pace is slower than yours so you'll have to do some regroups :p
... edit: Okay, looks like my wheels are definately gonna get there so I will be down... I have an idea for those planning on going to brewbakers at 1pm... since I have to start so late on the golf course side, anyone needing to be done earlier could start at the other end and meet me at the golf course and ride back instead (did that make sense?) ...

You could always crash the party here (http://bikeirvine.org/remote-rides.shtml) as guests. It's short but sounds fun. Three or four of us are crashing it as well.:D
