it was last night (sunday night) and i was going across the manhattan bridge (by car) back to brooklyn, and i saw that there was an accident. it was about 8pm and i was on the upper roadway.
one car was stopped behind, and several cars were stopped ahead, of a cyclist down and bloodied. i couldn't see the damage to the bike or damage to any of the cars, and the cyclist was laying in a recovery position, with jackets shored up around his head and upper body. i couldn't see his face but he could move his hand to communicate with the people tending to him. no police nor ambulance had arrived yet, but at least one of the people from the cars was on a phone.
has anyone heard anything? i searched through all the news today and haven't seen a thing. stuff like this really freaks me out. the signage for the bridge may not be good enough if a rider could end up on the upper roadway. ride safe everyone.
