I just bought a Giro E2 helmet yesterday (clearance rack, 65$ woohoo!) and my fenix l2d flashlight came as well. I want to be able to mount the light on top of my helmet but I see no way.

What's the most effective way and where can i get the cheapest price for it? I've considered the twofish bikeblock but seven dollars for something that simple seems a little pricey.

Thanks :)

If you want something cheap, try zip ties. If you want something even cheaper, try duct tape.

Fenix P3D mounted on my Giro Indicator helmet using Livestrong bracelet and an extra rubber spacer from a blinky mount. I've also done this with a MiniMag with the 3 LED NiteIze drop in, and a Fenix P1. Stays put where I want it, and is easy to install and remove.

Uhh, How did you attach it to the helmet itself? it's the bracelet one piece?

Yeah the bracelet is one piece. I hang the bracelet on the front portion of the light, pull the bracelet through the 1st vent and into the helmet, then pull the other end of the bracelet through the 2nd vent and over the rear of the light. The spacer goes between the light and the helmet to prevent scratching and act as a stabilizer.

How easy is it to detach? I wanted to use something like the bikeblock since I can just unstrap it whenever I need and use it as a flashlight for camping.

Video of me mounting the flashlight to my helmet, turning the light on, then removing the light from the helmet:
