Road Bike Racing - Taking a break

Well, I'll be taking a break from training for a while. Wedding prep, job search, and traveling have really cut in to my training time. I should be getting back on the bike in early September, after everything calms down.

In the meantime, I'll be getting comfortably reacquainted with an old friend:

We all need a break eventually.

That's not too long of a break, but make sure you don't let the loss of endorphine addiction prevent you from getting back into it. Other than that, enjoy your time off, and make good use of it!

Then when my wife was pregnant with our daughter lots of people told me that having a baby would mean our life would be 'over' once we had to care for a newborn.

But it was the beginning of a life filled with joys I could have never possibly imagined.

Cycling is great, and it's even a great part of life. But YOUR life is really beginning BD. Godspeed kid. Don't be gone too long. And don't sell your bike stuff.

I'm married. I know good and well that your future wife and mother-in-law are not allowing you in on this at all.

I'm not selling anything. In fact, up until a couple weeks ago I was still fighting to take my bike on the honeymoon. Though, honestly, I knew that I wouldn't win that one the whole time.

Hey BD, I'm in Germany getting nice and out of shape. Of all the people on bikes here, you'd think it'd be easy to borrow something for training...but I get a lot of funny looks and people offering me cruisers.

When things settle down for you, want to go on some easy, getting-back-in-shape rides? I'll be back in the town at the end of next week but not doing anything serious until after my cousin gets married later in August. How far away did you move? Do you still hit up some of the usual routes?
