Well since I didn't ride yesterday I was determined to today. Woke up to find fog. Well I still decided to go through it. I did like it better than rain since I didn't get the water in the shoe feeling which annoys me big time. I don't care for wearing glasses when riding in the fog and this will definitely encourage me to switchback to contact lenses.

I wear contacts, but I still use clear lenses for eye protection almost always when I ride. However, in the fog, I have to take them off because I soon can't see anything... Still haven't found a good solution for that.

Have you guys tried the anti-fog for your glasses that is used for competitive swimming goggles? Same problem (actually worse for swimmers), different sport. The stuff is available in swim stores for competitive swimmers. Also, some safety glasses (which now look more like designer glasses) come with an antifog application that works at least for awhile.

Spit works as well as anything as an anti-fogging agent, and it's cheap!

Heavy fog is one condition I won't risk riding in...been in too many near-misses in fog, even in a big, highly-visible car.

I can't avoid fog as I live in the greater Portland (OR) area. Since I don't have a car my bike is my main form of transport. In months with more fog I tend to go to work earlier, this increases my chance of seeing fog but reduces the traffic as well.

I also end up taking my glasses off in fog. Sometimes it isn't too bad but...

It was foggy here on the Maine coast this morning also. I use lots of random firing LEDs (eternaLight flashlights) for my aft finger print and two Cateye's forward looking. I have not had any problems and cars give me a very wide berth. This is the same set up I use during the winter months. These LED flashlights really cut through snow and fog.

Thick fog is a common winter hazard here in the Central Valley. I wear contacts and clear lenses. If the fog is really thick, it'll defeat spit, swimmer's goggle stuff, cat crap, and dish soap. I've tried them all. I end up just having to take them off.

I was going to say yesterday that spit does work, but only if it you don't get sweat on the glasses. I tried it out a long time ago, and actually wrote it up in a safety publication in the 1980s. But when I went to make the post, I inadvertently started a new thread instead. Oh well... :p

I don't ride much in fog, although the new route I have makes it much less hazardous. My wife is real worried about fog, so I tend to stay out of it if possible.
