Hey guys, I'm looking for a handlebar shim. I have a set of 25.4 bars and an older Cinelli stem which seems to have 26.4 spacing. Is there a shim out there for this? I can't seem to find any but for a seatpost which leads me to question 2....can I get a seat post shim and cut it down for this application?

Nitto makes a handlebar shim -- http://www.rivbike.com/webalog/handlebars_stems_tape/16095.html
Apparently, it ony allows a 25.4 fit in a normal 26.0 road clamp and not the larger Cinelli standard. Maybe they make something larger.

You need a 0.5 mm (0.02" i.e. 20 thousanths) shim. You should be able to buy brass shim stock in this thickness at an auto supply or insustrial supply store and fabricate your own.

Diet soda can. No sugary residue. It worked for Greg.
