Solveg and I at least think it would be lovely to encourage the kilted Clydes to show off, or at least let us know!
Halthane, CliftonGK1, and TS are all apparently kilted lads--anyone else?

And VTRodie as well, I think. Apologies if I am wrong.
Me as well -- a black Mocker by Utilikilts (http://www.utilikilts.com/index.php?page_id=29) -- which I wear for formal(ish) occasions. My wife is having her sixth 39th birthday this weekend, and I shall be kilted for the festivities.

No, I was thinking about this on the thread about moobs, and adding to the fuel, the thread over in Road Cycling about 'fat people in kit'.
It's more about being a guy, and gutsy enough to wear a kilt. And, even more to the point, being a BIG guy, and gutsy enough to wear a kilt.
Now, if you do happen to show off your legs, then I would not object.
:)
But, Solveg encouraged me, so I'm blaming her for any showing off of legs in this thread :p .

I have several kilts, including a formal Prince Charlie outfit. But I am just barely a clyde. If you want to see a large selection of clydes in kilts, then I encourage you to come to the PNW Highland Games at the Enumclaw fairgrounds this weekend.

Where do you think I have gained my love for men in kilts? :p
Are you going to be there? I could ride one of the bikes out there and get double duty out of the ride!

Now, my husband thinks I have great legs--but he's biased! I've just gone through my photos, and I don't seem to have one with unclad legs. I'll have to work on that.

Oh, I have been going to Enumclaw every July for many, many years now. We will be there, probably on Saturday. I like to get there before noon for the massing of the bands and the formal march to open the Games. Let me know if you want to meet up.

I would just worry that the throngs of women throwing themselves at me would interfere with my riding. The shag rug-like hair on my legs is attractive enough in bike shorts. I think a kilt might push me over the limit, attractiveness-wise.

Actually, I sure wouldn't mind seeing how all the calf muscles are developing. I'm getting a big lump-muscle under my knee on the outside that looks freakishly large. Not sure I like the the muscle-building aspect of bicycling.
I just really like guys who wear kilts. Whenever I see a guy in a kilt, I think, "I'll bet he's got a strong personality, and I bet I'd like it just fine!" Plus, they look good. That Mocker is nice looking.
I wear skirts while biking, since I haven't needed padding yet. They make boxer shorts for women in great colors, and I'll wear them under the skirt in case of wind. No seams, nice breeze, it's all great!
Edit: I guess there is a seam, but it doesn't bother me.

Being French-Italian, I don't understand how men's body hair became a bad thing! You guys had it good, back when it a sign of being virile. Then all the chest and leg-shaving started, and now guys are stuck with it.
I am also the teensiest bit scot...Williams. I don't know if they have a tartan.

The only time I ever did the shaving routine was back in my tri-racing heyday. Now I'm so lazy I don't even shave my beard. Shaving my head doesn't hardly count as effort, since most of it is falling out on its own.

I haven't had a chance to wear a kilt in almost a decade, but I'll mark this post and if I can find some pictures when I go home in december I'll post them. If it's still serviceable it might actually fit me again, but I can't remember how good of shape its in, it (and me in it took some pretty serious damage the last time I wore it).

I worked at Utilikilts for a while when I first moved to Seattle. Good quality products and very comfy. There is still a guy who I stay in touch with working there that commutes in a kilt every day. I personally own 6 kilts although at the moment I may have *cough* outgrown *cough* them. Just wait though, once they fit again I will be one of those kilted commuters.

Based on the location, it would have been some kind of civic event, parade, etc. Not exactly sure, it was a while back. We used to hate playing for parades. The biggest problem is that it's impossible to keep the pipes tuned for the duration of the parade. The result is our tone was horrible by the end of the parade.
I've got lots of highland games photos, but they're all on print rather than digital. When I took a consulting job and started traveling the world, which is what started me on the path to being a clyde :o, I dropped out of the band. I still have my pipes, and my own kilt, and play occasionally. I'm hoping my 4 year old daughter will decide she wants to learn in the not too distant future and then I'll get serious again. Right now, I'm giving her bike riding lessons. I also just ordered a bike trailer that I'll attach to my mountain bike. This way I can take her along on some rides and she can get the feel of going a bit faster.
It's unlikely I will ever get close to the level I was at before I started traveling (around 190 pounds, regular 40 mile 22+ mph group rides on rolling terrain, could run 8-10 miles maintaining a sub 8 minute mile pace, etc), but it sure would be nice to at least get back to that weight...

I'll have to come out of lurking to respond to this.
You must be hanging around the wrong people then. ;) I love bagpipes. I've wanted to learn to play myself since my high school had a bagpipe band. I couldn't do it then, but I could now. I need to get a good practice chanter. I have a cheap one and the reed went bad and I can't find a new one to work.
To actually respond to the original question; I don't have a kilt yet but it's only a matter of time. I'm still working on getting my husband to wear one. He is certainly a Clyde.

Probably--a couple of ex-boyfriends thought it was unpleasant to listen to. Oh well, that's why they are ex-boyfriends, and not Mr. East Hill.
Not a clyde, but...I've found I just can't wear a kilt while riding a bike.
Actually, I thought the great thing about the Utilikilts was that they could be worn safely whilst riding a bicycle. Perhaps one of the Utilikilt wearers can enlighten us?

I love bagpipe music, too. I have 3 CDs of it.
There was a group of bagpipers that would practice Wednesday nights in the summer in the lot behind where I worked. We'd all bring our dinners and go sit and listen.

I love bagpipe music too. I have a couple of binders full of it, but I'm out of practice lately.
I'll have to scan in some pictures. Most that I have handy are during living history events, so I'm carrying my basket hilt sword and targe.
