Almost.
I've had really scary experiences w/ Truvativ Elita cranksets ... a full-on road setup on a flexy 110 BCD crank does not inspire confidence. Even on a stiffer 130 BCD crank I've still experienced chronic chain issues and I've got next to no faith in the crankset doing its job in a sprint. I RA'd my last Elita crankset for an unrelated warranty issue (drive-side arm came unbonded from the hollow axle) and noticed Truvativ has changed the rings ... do I trust them now? Nope.
Honestly, I'd try to get a warranty replacement of the crankset/bb ... sell it in the box online and put that money toward a Gossamer crankset. When you've got the money, upgrade the big ring and then ride with confidence.

My truvatic elita compact had something similar. I noticed a loud creaking coming from the crank/bb one day and I kept losing the chain on the big ring. The crank on the drive side was wobbling..."drive-side arm came unbonded from the hollow axle" and the LBS said it was pretty close to catastrophic failure.
Time to upgrade I guess :p
