I'm a bit confused with all the tyre sizes around..
I would like to know if 650c road rims are compatible with v-brakes on a mountain bike.
Reason I'm asking is because i had this stupid idea of setting my old mountain bike up with a 28" fork up front while maintaining a smaller (650c) wheel in the rear..
Because experimenting is healthy..
I can't answer your question but if it helps any there is also a wider 650B size to accommodate wider tires than the C size.
Experimenting is fun. Try it and report back, please. :D

My one experience on a Schwinn Homegrown it worked just fine. But, on that particular frame the brake pads were all the way to the bottom of the slots to fit 26" wheels so I had a lot of room to move them up to fit the 650c wheels.

If my calculations serve me correct, about 6mm of adjustment is all you need.
