I wanted a bike to ride on the dirt roads around here in South-eastern Michigan, having gotten a bit weary with using a heavy MTB for this. I did some research online and here on the board and:

purchased at a local LBS, my new baby.
Custom built on a 2006 left over Specialized S-Works tricross frame (E5 aluminum, specialized tricross carbon fork and specialized carbon seatpost)

dura ace brifters, derailleur, cassette and chain (compact double, 10 speed cassette)

roval fusee star wheels with Geax Mescal 700x34c tires

Easton EC90 Equipe Pro carbon handlebar, fizik bar gel and tape.

Avid Shorty 4 cantilever brakes.

specialized rival saddle

the scale said just over 18 pounds with pedals - sounds good to me. whats even better was the price - so low i was shocked. Granted the bike was built with leftovers, swapout parts (all new though), the bike seemed a steal to me. so i stole it, and this morning rode it like i stole it.

just picked it up yesterday. after this morning's ride on 20 miles of muddy dirt road in the rain, i am in love. I love this bike. did i say i love it? and unlike some tricross builds I've read about, no fork shudder during heavy braking. love it.
